Studies play a central role in mental health research. They contribute to a better understanding of illnesses or protective factors, the development of new therapies and diagnostic procedures, and the reduction of social stigma. They thus form the basis for evidence-based care and prevention, which in the long term strengthens the quality of life of those affected and society's resilience.
Are you interested in supporting research by participating in a study? On this page, you will find studies conducted by the DZPG currently looking for participants.
Depression is one of the most common mental illnesses in adolescents and young adults. Medication and psychotherapeutic procedures are effective treatment methods, but they do not help all those affected equally. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is also used in adults with depression.
The EARLY BURST study, conducted by researchers at the DZPG's Munich-Augsburg site, is investigating whether theta burst stimulation (TBS), a further development of TMS, is an alternative treatment option for young people (16 to 26 years) with depressive disorders.
