Silvia Schneider investigates how mental health disorders develop in children and adolescents and how they are transmitted within families. Her work spans the entire lifespan. In order to develop effective therapeutic approaches, she allows young people to speak for themselves. This approach is still unusual today, as the focus is typically on interviewing the parents of mentally ill children and adolescents. Currently, Silvia Schneider is focusing on how children from socially disadvantaged families can gain access to psychological support.
