Maximizing the benefits of data for research requires efficient collaboration within the scientific community. The eight German Centers for Health Research (DZG) have now published a whitepaper titled "Health Research Data: Unlocking Together, Researching More Efficiently." It outlines how the DZG, in collaboration with the Network of University Medicine (NUM), can develop a shared data space in Germany and identifies key requirements. The whitepaper also highlights how these advancements can be structured—leveraging existing infrastructures, strong networks, and unified standards.
The goal of connecting research data is clear: to translate new scientific findings into practical applications and deliver them as efficiently as possible to those who stand to benefit.
