ERC public engagement with research award 2024 goes to Tobias Hauser

Prof. Dr. Tobias Hauser from the DZPG partner site in Tübingen has been honored with the ERC Public Engagement with Research Award 2024. Through his project “OCD and the Brain”, he created an interactive online resource that makes complex neuroscience understandable for young people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), their parents, and caregivers.

To achieve this, he brought together researchers, affected individuals, professionals, and organizations in creative workshops. The result: a platform that communicates scientific findings in a practical way, tailored to the needs of the community.

The jury praised the inclusive approach, which bridges the gap between research and societal realities. The project also inspired new research proposals and strengthens the connection between science and everyday life.
